Coyote Cooking Grate & Flame Tamer Repair in Cincinnati, NKY & Dayton

If your Coyote is flaring up, cooking unevenly, or you've lifted the lid to find rusted grates and crumbling flame tamers, you're not imagining it โ€” these are the parts that take the most abuse on these grills. The good news: a Coyote is a heavy, high-end grill that's almost always worth saving, and we'll tell you straight whether it's a repair or a replace.

What you're seeing

Heavy hex grates feel pitted, rusty, or food won't release

Coyote's signature thick stainless hex grates are built to last, but a worn-off seasoning layer or a grate left wet under the lid will surface-rust and pit. Once the bars pit, food sticks and tears. We can often strip, deep-clean, and re-season the original grates rather than replace them โ€” and if a grate is truly spent, we'll tell you the exact part to order.

Uneven heat and constant flare-ups across the burners

On a Coyote the ceramic briquette tray (the heat-control grid that sits over the Infinity burners) and the flame tamers spread heat and catch drippings. When they're caked, cracked, or sitting crooked, you get cold spots, runaway flare-ups, and grease fires. Cleaning and re-leveling these usually restores even heat without any new parts.

Cracked, sagging, or rusted-through flame tamers / radiants

The steel flame tamers over each Infinity burner warp and rust out over years of grease and heat cycling. A warped tamer dumps drippings straight onto the burner and accelerates burner corrosion. We assess whether yours can be cleaned and reseated or need replacing โ€” and we won't let you keep cooking on ones that are funneling grease onto the burners below.

RapidSear infrared zone not searing like it used to

The ceramic RapidSear infrared burner relies on a clean emitter screen and an unobstructed ceramic surface to hit those high searing temps. Grease and carbon buildup choke it, so it lights but never gets blazing hot. A careful deep-clean of the infrared element and screen โ€” not a wire-brush gouging โ€” usually brings the sear back.

Burners light but won't hold flame, or push-to-light won't spark

Coyote uses push-to-light / hot-surface ignition on the main Infinity burners. When grates and tamers are buried in carbon, debris falls into the burner ports and the igniter, so burners light unevenly or the ignition won't catch. Clearing the ports and the ignition path is part of the same visit โ€” often the fix is cleaning, not a new igniter.

How we fix it

When we arrive, we pull your Coyote's grates, ceramic briquette grids, and flame tamers and inspect each layer the way the heat actually flows โ€” grates, tamers/radiants, then the Infinity burners and the RapidSear infrared element underneath. We check the hex grates for true pitting versus surface rust, the tamers for warp and rust-through, the ceramic grids for cracks, and the burner ports and push-to-light ignition for blockage. Then we give you an honest repair-vs-replace call: a Coyote is a premium grill, so most of the time the answer is "this cleans up and we re-season it" rather than "buy new parts," and when a part genuinely needs replacing we name the exact Coyote component so you're not guessing. Whatever the verdict, we deep-clean the entire grill down to the firebox in that same visit, so you're cooking on it that night โ€” repair and clean, one trip, no second appointment.

Questions, answered

Can you save my rusted Coyote cooking grates or do I need new ones?
Most of the time we save them. Coyote's heavy stainless hex grates handle a deep strip-and-season far better than cheap grates, so surface rust and stuck-on carbon usually come right off. We only recommend replacement when a bar is pitted through or cracked โ€” and we'll show you exactly why and which part to order.
Do you replace warped Coyote flame tamers and ceramic briquette grids, or just clean them?
Both, depending on what we find. Clean-and-reseat fixes most uneven-heat and flare-up complaints. If a flame tamer is rusted through or a ceramic grid is cracked and dumping grease on the burners, we'll tell you it needs replacing and name the exact Coyote part rather than letting you keep cooking on a hazard.
My Coyote's RapidSear infrared burner won't get hot โ€” is that a repair you do?
Yes. A weak RapidSear sear is almost always grease and carbon choking the ceramic emitter and screen, not a dead burner. We carefully deep-clean the infrared element so it breathes and sears again. If the ceramic is physically cracked, we'll flag that and point you to the right replacement.
Do you handle the Coyote push-to-light ignition not sparking?
Often the ignition just isn't catching because debris from dirty grates and tamers has fallen into the burner ports and the hot-surface igniter path. We clear all of that as part of the service. If the igniter itself is genuinely failed after cleaning, we'll tell you straight so you can decide on the part.
Do you repair and clean in the same visit, and where do you serve?
Yes โ€” we come to your home, repair the grill, and deep-clean it in the same visit so you're cooking that night. We serve Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, and Dayton, Ohio. Send us a few photos for a free quote and we'll tell you whether it's a clean, a repair, or honestly not worth saving.
